Central Sterile Supply Manager – Ann Arbor, Michigan

We are seeking a Sterile Supply Manager to join our dynamic organization!  Full-time, excellent pay and benefits!

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring reusable supplies and instruments required for surgical procedures and treatment are properly handled, decontaminated, assembled, sterilized and redistributed in accordance with policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure safe and sterile instruments and supplies for our patients and care providers.
  • Monitoring and scheduling preventative maintenance of equipment according to established guidelines and recommendations and ensures instruments and equipment are maintained in proper working order at all times.
  • Serving as a liaison to the Infection Control Committee.
  • Working closely with OR leaders and faculty and staff to assure purchase and availability of specific instrumentation.
  • Assuring tray/set inventory is correct and complete.
  • Providing education and expert knowledge of the sterilization sciences.
  • Supporting and directing the orientation of all supervisory team members and staff, schedules supervisor work assignments and conducts disciplinary actions, if needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Baccalaureate degree in the health care field.
  • Previous supervisory experience and/or project management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of infection control and sterilization practices.
  • Sterile Processing Technician/Supervisor Certification or must obtain within-probationary period of the job.
  • 3-5 yrs surgical instrument and supply management experience.
  • Specific knowledge in the use, care and handling of medical/surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • Current RN license in state of Michigan
  • Sterile Processing and Distribution Manager Certification and/or agreement to attain this certification within one year of hire.
  • 5+ years of manager experience in Sterile Processing with progressive improvement in staff utilization, workflow, budget management, administrative and teaching duties.
  • Experience in the operating room.
