PRN / Part Time Primary Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a dedicated Part Time / PRN Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Fort Smith, AR. You will work closely with the elderly and long-term care residents, managing complex wounds and chronic conditions in a dynamic clinical environment. This model eliminates the administrative burdens of a traditional clinic, allowing you to focus entirely on patient care and clinical outcomes within the facility setting.

The ideal candidate is an autonomous clinician with a strong background in adult, family, or geriatric care, specifically tailored to wound management. You should be highly comfortable navigating complex chronic conditions and possess a collaborative spirit to work effectively with facility staff and attending physicians. We are looking for a compassionate, team-oriented professional who is passionate about elevating the standard of care for long-term care residents.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide primary/wound/telehealth care (as appropriate) to long-term care residents in skilled nursing facilities

- Assess and manage acute changes in condition; initiate appropriate diagnostic workup and treatment

- Conduct advanced care planning and manage chronic disease conditions

- Prescribe medications including controlled substances in accordance with Arkansas law

- Communicate with nursing home staff and collaborate with attending physicians on care plans

Qualifications

- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Arkansas (required)

- National board certification (AANP or ANCC)

- Active DEA licensure

- Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties

- Wound assessment, NPIAP staging, advanced wound products, wound vac experience, wound certification preferred

- Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility setting preferred

- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
