We offer a great work/life balance with a standard work week schedule 9:00-5:00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Wednesday 9:00-1:00. Qualifications:

Child Psychiatrist needed for community-supported crisis center in Tucson, Arizona.  This innovative center provides emergency/crisis psychiatric services available 24 hours/day, 365 days/year.  This includes crisis intervention, assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, engagement, family meetings, supportive psychotherapy, patient education, risk assessment, and discharge planning. This crisis center operates as a Level I Inpatient facility and an Outpatient Behavioral Health clinic for both adults and children.  This center offers assessment and consultation, medication services, crisis counseling, crisis services (level I acute, level I sub acute, 23-hour observation), court ordered evaluation and treatment services, peer support, and co-morbid treatment for select medical conditions.  This center has a vision of providing high quality behavioral health care that is person-centered, evidence-based and culturally sensitive, that expects recovery from mental illness.  They believe that hospitalizations can be avoided with appropriate interventions and access to care, and that hospitalization, when required, can be shortened with aggressive intervention. Strategic collaborations with community partners (e.g. police, ED’s, jails, families, behavioral health providers, and medical providers) are essential for success and lead to the best possible outcomes for those we serve, and; most importantly, they believe that recovery is possible and should be expected for everyone.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine with a specialty in Psychiatry
  • New Graduates considered, with prior experience or rotations in crisis work
  • Licensed by the State of Arizona; eligible for Board Certification
  • At least three (3) years of post-doctoral years’ experience, to include approved psychiatric residency training programs in the delivery of mental health treatment of children, adolescents, and/or adults
  • Working knowledge of psychopharmacology, substance abuse, and involuntary services
